Abstract
Cholesterol granuloma is a rare disease in which cholesterol crystals act as a foreign substancein the surrounding tissues and cause granulomatous reactions and fibrosis. It is commonlyfound in the mastoid or petrous apex, but the involvement of the nasal septum is very rare.
Mucocele, which has pathogenesis similar to that of cholesterol granuloma, is a relativelycommon cystic lesion of the paranasal sinus; but rarely, it also occurs in the nasal septum. Wereport a case of cholesterol granuloma, which was clinically thought of as mucocele at first butmanaged successfully by endoscope-assisted marsupialization.
